It's a Boy!!

We had our "big" ultrasound on Thursday and there is no doubt that it is a boy!! He was very active and busy in there. I have felt lots of movement and kicks, but nothing equal to what he was doing on the screen!! He weighs about 1 lb, 1 oz. All of his anatomy looked fine and we are about 1 week ahead with measurements. So the due date is Jan. 30th, give or take a week. Both grandmothers were there and were super excited to see the newest addition. After the ultrasound we headed to Target with the grandparents and bought our first blue baby clothes.

Collin's parents were here for the weekend and helped us put up a shelving system in the nursery closet. The blue paint really made it stand out. We will paint the rest of the room later on.

And of course, my computer is acting up again so I am not sure if the pics will publish. I think I have a stupid virus. Will post pics later.

Savannah Pictures

So I finally got blogger to work so I could publish some pics from our August trip to Savannah.
We toured this house and apparently it is haunted . This sign was in the basement and no, we did not find any ghostly guests on our camera. Thank goodness!! Scary!!
Collin and I in front of our bed and breakfast, The Eliza Thompson House. No ghostly guests sighted here either.

The Lady and Sons, Paula Deen's restaurant. People were lined up at 9 am to make reservations for the day.

Have you ever touched something dated 1825?? This was a tombstone in the very old Colonial Park cemetery.

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, built in 1873. Too bad photography was not allowed inside. Beautiful!!

Collin with "Paula" inside the Paula Deen store. She was awfully quiet and shy!! haha

I asked her for some secret recipes but her lips were sealed!!

Forsythe park.

Baby, Georgia Trip

Well, I 've been a bad blogger lately, but here are a few happenings in our life.
The big news is that on Sept. 18th we find out whether to buy blue or pink paint for the nursery!! We can't wait!! It feels like it has taken an eternity to be almost 20 weeks and be able to schedule the "big" ultrasound. I have also started to feel some flutters from the baby moving around. And there is no doubt that I am pregnant...I am beginning to show!

Two weeks ago Collin and I went to Atlanta for a wedding of one of his good friends. Collin had a good time catching up with his old buds from Georgia, playing some golf, and staying up way too late for us old folks!! On Sunday, after the wedding was over, we took a short trip to Savannah. Neither one of us had been there before and it is a place that I wanted to "check off the list" as having visited. It is as beautiful as it looks in the postcards and on TV. Lots of moss dripping off the trees and blocks and blocks of old, historical homes. We stayed in one of them which was transformed into a bed and breakfast in the historic district part of the city (The Eliza Thompson House: http://www.elizathompsonhouse.com.) The first day we were there we lined up at 9am to get on the reservation list at The Lady and Sons, Paula Deens restaurant!! Eating at Paula's was a MUST on the to do list. We then took a trolley ride through the city that hit all the highlights of the history in the city. We then went back to a couple of the stops that were of real interest to us so we could spend more time at them. We saw Forsythe Park (the famous fountain), a really old cemetery, The Mercer House, two old churches, one Catholic and one which was the first African American built church (it was also a stop on the Underground Railroad), and we toured a haunted historic home which had entertained Gen. Robert E. Lee. We topped the day off with dinner at The Lady and Sons. I had her southern buffet and Collin tried the peach salsa grouper. The tastiest dish was the fried green tomatoes!! Delish!! Although we got a pic with the fake Paula Deen, the real Paula Deen did not make an appearance that night. We left VERY full and very tired after a really long day of trying to see all the sights of Savannah. We headed back for Big D the next day after having a wonderful time on our "Babymoon."

Note: my computer is acting funny so I am not able to add pics at this time. I will work on it some more after I publish this post.
