Four Months
Our baby is now four months old!! Time keeps flying by!! Grant had his 4 month check up on Tuesday and did great. Hardly any crying with the shots he received!! We got the ok to start rice cereal...more details and pics on that later.
Grant at 4 Months:
  • Weight=15.2 lbs 50th %tile
  • Height=25 1/2 inches 75th %tile
  • Sleeps from 8-10 hours at night!
  • Some nights I hear him talking and smiling in his bed about 5am. I guess he is in there partying away by himself!
  • Likes to take a long morning nap with Mommy in her bed.
  • But sometimes just cat naps all day.
  • Rolls from his stomach to his back during tummy time.
  • Loves to smile and "talk" to mom and dad. Seems like he has found his voice in the past couple of weeks.
  • Has laughed a real giggly laugh twice in the last week.
  • Likes to Skype his grandparents.
  • Can grasp a toy and bring it to his mouth.
  • Is wearing some 6 month clothes already!
  • Mostly looks like his Daddy, but some people say he has his mom's lips.
  • Likes to go for evening walks.
  • Has become more interested in his toys.
  • We think his eyes are starting to look green, we both have green eyes.
  • His hair is brown, blond and red. Looks different in every outfit and in every different light.
  • He made his first out of town trip to Longview and did really well. He is a good car rider!! Falls asleep everytime!!

Ducks!

We have a couple of ponds in our neighborhood which have ducks in them that we like to feed bread to. Some of the ducks look kinda scary and will even chase after you when you are feeding them. Clay, Collin, Grant and I went for a walk the other night and here are some pics.

Getting Grant ready for his walk.

The scary, mean ducks marching towards me.

Clay running for dear life!!

Grant says, "I ain't scared!!"

Uncle Clay

Collin's brother, Clay, came last weekend to meet his very first nephew. Oh, and he came to go to the Dave Matthews concert with Collin. Clay lives in Indy, but we hope that he might join us one of these days in Texas on a more permanent basis!
Grant gives his Unker Clay a head hug...with slobber too!!

Grant is trying to "pick" off the lettering on Clay's t-shirt.

Aunt Meredith also stayed the weekend with us. Grant had a great time with his aunt and uncle. Now, if Aunt Sarah could just make it down here!! :)

Play date!

Grant and I went on our first play date with some friends from our old Sunday school class today. We went to the Dallas arboretum which is a botanical garden near White Rock Lake. There were 4 other mommys and babies that went with us. We spread out our blankets and had a picnic lunch on the grass. It was so much fun!! It was great to talk to other moms and hear their experiences and advice.
Here we are towards the end of the date. He fell asleep as we walked around. I was so thankful that he took a bottle from me. And he gets bonus points for the milk being a tad cold!!
Here are two of our new friends, Avery and Braeden, both 13 months. Avery is pushing Braeden's stroller into the flower bed, as Braeden is digging up a flower for his mom. Garden etiquette is just too hard for babies to follow !! Too cute!!

Hands in mouth, trying to get ahold of his thumb.

This is the last time that I was at the arboretum in December of 2005 when I had my bridal portraits done. The pic above this one is of Grant in the same area that this bridal pic was taken. How things have changed since then!! I walked out a blushing bride and came back 3 years later with a baby!!
We look forward to our next date!!

Boppy Time

Boppy time was all fun and games, until this happened.....

I don't think an explanation is needed here. Let just say that is not chocolate.

O Happy Day!!

I was finally able to catch Grant smiling with my camera. He has been smiling for a couple of weeks now. You know how hard it can be to catch that split second smile!!

Love this one!!
He has learned how to grab a toy and pull it to his mouth now.
